Clearing Out Old Rack?

What We Did

We removed the entire steel rack structure rather than installing a replacement.

How the Project Came Together

From Challenge to Solution

See how each project came together, from the initial need and installation process to the finished result.

The Problem

The facility's steel storage rack was more than 20 years old and well past its useful life. The customer needed the whole structure out of the building.

How It Went In

We normally design, supply and install rack. On this job we were hired to take it out. Twelve of our crew, working with fork trucks, scissor lifts and cutting tools, removed the entire steel structure. More than 60 trucks, each carrying 30,000 lbs, hauled it to recycling, where it was shredded, processed and returned to use as new steel.

The Result

Two million pounds of ferrous steel, cleared from the distribution facility and recycled rather than sent to a landfill.
